Did you hear that?
That creak, crack, break, splinter, shatter -
it’s the sound of the depth beneath your feet,
An underworld fickle and wafer-thin
In the distance
There are echoes,
And down below
Frozen objects shudder
As they fall still, caught in the unseen threads of a loom
Cradled by mother earth, sunken in sleep.
